Buckleys Geelong is looking to employ a full time chef to join our busy kitchen team.

Duties include:

· To perform cooking duties as a qualified chef, having completed an apprenticeship or passed the appropriate trade test.

· To assist as required in other areas of the club relating to the kitchen, including functions.

· To assist in the implementation of workplace policies and procedures as directed by the Management.

· To participate as part of a team providing services to members and patrons.

· Through the application of recognised Occupational Health and Safety practices, provide a safe and healthy work environment.

· To perform all duties consistent with the policies of the Club and Statutory requirements.

· Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans and kitchen scales

Follow recipe cards and use consistent cooking methods

Organize foods to be cooked in a timely manner

Delegate tasks to kitchen staff

Inform wait staff about daily specials

Ensure appealing plate presentation

Supervise other cooks and assist as needed

Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests

Monitor food stock and place orders

Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items

Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients

Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area

Work with the company in reaching KPI’s and maintaining food costs

Knowledge/Skills & Experience – Required

· Holds a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.

· One year of relevant experience.

· Holds a current Food Handling Certificate.

· Ability to implement day to day policies and procedures as directed
