We’re looking for a Finance Manager (Part-Time)
Help us grow Tasmania’s most admired dental group through with clean books, sharp reporting, and smart financial systems.
At Innova Dental, we’re on a mission to redefine what dental care can be like in Tasmania. We started in 2015 with a team of 2. Today, we’re over 50 strong, operating in Launceston and Rosny. We are growing very quickly and with this growth comes the need to elevate our financial operations, and that’s where you come in.
We’re looking for a Finance Manager who wants more than just a job. Someone reliable, detail-focused and values-driven. Someone who’s looking for meaningful, high-trust work across 2–3 days per week with a flexible schedule to accomodate school hours, and wants to contribute to something exciting.
About Us
Innova Dental is known for delivering exceptional clinical results, warm patient experiences, and innovative systems. We don’t settle for “good enough”, and that includes how we run our finances.
We’re a values-driven practice, and our core values guide our clinical care and business operations:
Passionate for what we do
Outstanding Patient Experiences
Winning A Team
Excellence as a habit
Relentless Innovation
With multiple entities, a large team and operations that are getting more complex, we need a finance operator who can keep the machine humming, the books clean, and the numbers meaningful.
The Role
As our Finance Manager, you’ll be responsible for keeping our financial operations tight, timely, and scalable. You’ll work closely with our external accountant and leadership team to support a high-performing business with financial clarity and consistency.
This is a hands-on, execution-focused role — ideal for someone who’s great with Xero, confident across reconciliations, and takes pride in clean, audit-ready systems.
This role will be perfect for a CFA, CPA, CA or experienced financial operator looking for meaningful part-time work with flexibility and impact.
In this role, you will:
Own day-to-day Xero-based bookkeeping across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and intercompany loans with clean audit trails and minimal rework.
Manage accounts payable with confidence—owning invoice coding, batching, and payment readiness across practices
Process payroll and ensure accurate leave tracking, entitlements, and super compliance across sites
Support monthly close through journals, accruals, and GL reviews that keep our reporting sharp and actionable
Prepare BAS and review GST treatment to ensure compliance and clarity across entities
Work closely with our Accountant to produce reliable, useful reporting that actually informs decisions
Make sense of the numbers—flag anomalies, identify trends, and help uncover insights that support operational improvements
Bring a proactive lens to financial hygiene, helping us build a culture of clarity, accountability, and data-driven thinking through accurate and insightful reporting
We’d love you to have:
5+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting or finance operations
CPA, CA, or equivalent professional experience
Confidence with Xero (multi-entity and healthcare experience ideal)
A strong eye for detail, clean coding, and financial hygiene
Great communication skills and proactive ownership mindset
Based in Launceston or Hobart (Launceston preferred)
Available 2–3 days/week, school hours welcome
What We Offer
A high-trust, low-drama workplace that values autonomy and results
Competitive pay depending on experience
Flexible hours that can accomodate school hours
A chance to own your area and work alongside a sharp, values-aligned team
Tools, systems and support to do your best work
A leadership team that understands finance and backs you
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and professional development support
