About the opportunity:
As the Exploration Assessment Officer, you'll work as part of a collaborative team responsible for various assessments and regulatory processes related to mineral exploration licences. This includes the management, coordination and administration of licence applications, renewals, expenditure returns and technical reports.
You will conduct non-technical assessments, manage records and data, prepare official documentation and correspondence, and provide advice to stakeholders across industry and government. This role also includes a project management component to improve processes and support key initiatives related to mineral regulation and policy.
The successful applicant will:
Coordinate and administer processes for mineral exploration licence assessments in line with legislative and regulatory frameworks.
Conduct non-technical assessments, prepare reports and official documentation, and manage internal tracking systems.
Provide timely and accurate advice to internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain high-quality records and data management, ensuring secure and accurate storage of sensitive information.

Key Selection Criteria:

Strong business and administrative support experience, particularly in documentation, correspondence, records and data management.
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret legislation and regulatory guidelines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on service delivery and stakeholder engagement.
Remuneration:
ASO4 salary range $76,561 - $80,256 per annum + superannuation
Full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week
Special Conditions:
Ongoing role beginning with a 12-month initial placement
