About Us

Eastern Heart Clinic is an interventional cardiology clinic located at the Prince of Wales Hospital campus at Randwick in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. We are one of the largest and busiest interventional cardiology hospitals in Australia, performing more than 5,500 procedures annually. Our team includes procedural cardiologists, clinical cardiologists, visiting cardiac and vascular surgeons, anaesthetists, radiographers, specialist nurses, theatre personnel and administrative staff. We’re a unique health service in that we operate a private cardiology service within a major tertiary hospital. This means both private and public patients have access to this highly specialised service regardless of their referral source. Our mission is to provide best practice in cardiovascular medicine, interventional cardiac studies, patient care, clinical teaching and research.

Role Purpose

Maintain and optimise the organisation’s infrastructure, servers, cloud services, and core applications. Ensure systems are patched, secure, backed up, and monitored. Daily review of cybersecurity alerts and logs is mandatory to protect the environment.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Cloud Operations

Administer Windows/Linux servers, virtualisation, storage, and backups.

Manage Microsoft 365, Azure/AWS resources, identity and access, and group policies.

Maintain network services (DNS/DHCP/VPN), firewalls, and switching.

Security & Compliance

Monitor SIEM/EDR (e.g., Microsoft Defender, Sophos) and action alerts daily.

Apply OS/application patches and firmware updates on schedule.

Conduct vulnerability scans and remediate findings within agreed SLAs.

Test backups and disaster recovery quarterly; document results.

Automation & Documentation

Script routine tasks (PowerShell, Bash) to improve efficiency and consistency.

Maintain accurate system diagrams, runbooks, and configuration documentation.

Contribute to CMDB/asset inventory accuracy.

Support & Collaboration

Act as Tier 2 and 3 escalations for complex incidents.

Partner with the Technical Support Analyst for smooth hand offs and knowledge transfer.

Assist with on call/afterhours maintenance windows and support.

Multi-site travel across Sydney required

Skills & Experience

1+ years in systems administration.

Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell skills.

Experience with backup platforms (Veeam, Commvault), monitoring tools, and SIEM/EDR.

Networking fundamentals (VLANs, routing, firewall rules).

Qualifications

Relevant certifications (MCSA/MCSE, AZ 104, VCP, CompTIA Security+/CySA+).

ITIL Foundation desirable.

National Police Check and Working with Children Check are required, immunisation compliance as per clinic policy.
