We work together to build a legacy that we can be proud of, supporting those in need within our communities. Our companions are why our journey started, striving to shape a more just and compassionate society. Our employees, members and volunteers are the reason our journey continues, and why we will succeed.

What we can offer you

  • Work with a purpose – not your average organisation and not your average role!
  • Competitive hourly rate and excellent employment benefits under our Employee Agreement
  • Salary packaging arrangements – helping you save on tax
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Program – our employees are our most valuable asset
  • A welcoming and inclusive environment where you’ll always feel part of a team

The Role

We are looking for a professional and highly organised Office Receptionist to join our State Administration Office. In this important front-facing role, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, staff, and external stakeholders, representing the Society with warmth, efficiency, and professionalism.

Your primary responsibility will be to manage front desk operations, which include greeting guests, handling incoming calls, coordinating courier services, and reconciling cab charges.

In addition to reception duties, you will provide valuable support in merchandise coordination and assist with various document and data management tasks. This role requires strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual who takes pride in providing exceptional administrative support and thrives in a role that involves daily interaction with a wide range of people.

This is a permanent, full-time position (38 hours per week) based in South Brisbane. The work schedule is from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Previous experience in general administrative support or similar roles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediate skills in Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • A polished, professional phone manner and an approach that reflects SVdP’s core values.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail, coupled with effective problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive, eager-to-learn attitude and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Solid time management and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • A high level of discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Flexibility in work hours and an adaptable approach to changing needs.
  • An understanding of, and commitment to, the philosophy and mission of SVdP, with the ability to work in alignment with policies and procedures that promote our values.

If you're a proactive, adaptable individual with a passion for administration and enjoy variety in your work, we would love to hear from you!

You can submit your application via SEEK or directly on our careers page!

Having the right people in our team is important to us. Before joining our team, we’ll undertake pre-employment checks including references, a police check, and proof of qualifications.

We are committed to meaningful equity and diversity in our workforce. Applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples is strongly encouraged. To be eligible for this position you must have an appropriate visa to work in Australia/New Zealand.
