Veterinary Receptionist – Where Exceptional Service Meets Passion for Pets
Full-Time Role – 38 hours per week | 1 in 3 Saturdays
Do you have exceptional communication skills, thrive under pressure, and pride yourself on your professional presentation?
Are you looking for a fast-paced, client-focused role where no two days are the same — and where you truly are the first impression of a high-performing veterinary team?
If you are confident, proactive, and ready to take ownership of a busy front-of-house position, we want to meet you!
About Us
Ripley Veterinary Hospital is proudly ASAV Accredited as a Hospital of Excellence — one of only a handful in Queensland.
We’ve been recognised with multiple Lincoln Institute Awards, including Best Lead Practice and Employer of Choice. We set high standards because our patients, clients, and team deserve the best.
About the Role
This is a full-time, client-facing position, averaging 38 hours per week, including 1 in 3 Saturdays (8am–1pm).
As the first point of contact for our clients, you will play a key role in delivering an outstanding client experience while keeping the front desk running smoothly during busy, high-pressure days.
💰 Pay rate: In line with the Animal Care and Veterinary Services Award [MA000118], based on experience and classification.
This Role is Perfect for Someone Who:
✔️ Takes pride in their professional presentation and communication
✔️ Thinks fast on their feet and thrives when juggling multiple tasks
✔️ Has the confidence to handle emotional conversations with empathy and professionalism
✔️ Loves being on the go — this is not a “sit behind a desk all day” role
✔️ Can bring energy, positivity, and resilience to every shift
What You’ll Be Doing
Greeting every client and pet with warmth and professionalism
Managing a busy reception desk, phones, bookings, and client enquiries
Acting as the key communication link between clients and the veterinary team
Processing payments and completing administrative tasks
Maintaining a tidy, welcoming reception area
Supporting emails, social media, and community engagement
Assisting with Puppy Preschool and community events
What We’re Looking For
A confident, polished communicator who makes a great first impression
A high level of organisation and attention to detail
Resilience and adaptability to remain calm under pressure
A proactive team player who can also take initiative when working independently
A client-focused mindset, with the ability to balance empathy and professionalism
How to Apply – Show Us Your Professional Side!
Please email through a short video (max 2–3 minutes) along with your resume and cover letter.
In your video:
🎥 Introduce yourself as if you’re greeting a client at our front desk.
🎥 Tell us about a time you had to stay calm and professional with someone upset or emotional – what did you do and what did you learn?
🎥 And just for fun… what would be our clinic’s theme song when you walk through the door – and why?
Send your video and resume to Tanya, our Practice Manager: [email protected]
⚠️ Only applications that include a video will be considered.
