The Victorian Hospitals’ Industrial Association (‘VHIA’) is an employer organisation representing the interests of its members in the Victorian public health, mental health, community health, primary health; disability and residential aged care sectors.

VHIA advises on a wide variety of matters relating to workplace and industrial relations and provides services ranging from general advice through more specialist or technical consulting as well as advocacy in tribunals and courts.

The Role:
VHIA is seeking a Workplace Relations Consultant on a full-time, ongoing basis.
As part of the bargaining team on a sector-wide enterprise agreement, the role involves working cooperatively in a small team to support the bargaining cycle (Bargaining, Implementation, Review, Planning).

In addition, you would assist in the development of material related to advocacy in tribunals and courts and to provide timely and accurate industrial relations advice in response to complex sector-wide and/or escalated member enquiries through telephone, email, internet and social media.

VHIA currently offers a hybrid working arrangement where two days a week are in our modern offices in Footscray, with three days a week from home.

To be successful in this position, you will need to meet the following selection criteria:
You will possess a Bachelor degree (or higher) in Law, Human Resources or Business; have a minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in the legal or human resources fields (those with experience in workplace relations and/or supporting negotiations will be highly regarded), be passionate about public and community health and dedicated to strong member service.

You must be able to demonstrate well-developed influencing, negotiation and collaboration skills, strong written and oral communication skills; effective problem solving and analytical skills; a proven ability to develop strong stakeholder engagement skills, the ability to work in a small team and a strong aptitude in the use of the Microsoft Office 365 suite.
