About the role

Designdevise Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team in our Melbourne office. This is a full-time role that will see you play a key part in the design and delivery of complex civil and structural engineering projects.

What you'll be doing

Utilise advanced engineering principles and software tools to design and analyse structural systems, including steel, concrete, timber, and masonry components.

Prepare comprehensive engineering reports, drawings, specifications, and other technical documents outlining project requirements, design solutions, and recommendations

Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and regulatory authorities to facilitate effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle

Manage assigned projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards

Providing site supervision and inspections as required

Contributing to the development of innovative engineering solutions

Mentoring and supporting junior members of the engineering team

What we're looking for

Tertiary qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field

Minimum of 3 years' post-graduate experience in a similar structural engineering role

Proficient in the use of structural engineering software such as ETABS, SAFE, ClearCalcs, SpaceGass, Tekla structural Designer, Autodesk Robot, RAPT & ETABS and AutoCAD

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively

Excellent time management, ability to manage multiple deadlines

Ability to work collaboratively within a team

Demonstrated experience in delivering high-quality engineering solutions

Current registration as a Member of the Institute of Engineers Australia (MIEAust) and working toward or eligible for Chartered Engineer status (Engineers Australia

Advanced ability to interpret the requirements of Australian standards and building codes, design in accordance with AS1170.0, AS1170.1 AS1170.2, AS2870, AS1684, AS1170, AS3600, AS4100, NCC etc.
