Uniting is seeking a passionate and experienced Team Leader to supervise and support a team of support coordinators delivering high-quality support coordination to participants of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
About the Opportunity
This is a full-time permanent position working 38 hours per week from Monday to Friday.
- Hybrid work model with up to two days WFH
- Work across Sydney Metro sites in North Parramatta, Leichhardt, or Campbelltown as required
- Base pay starting from $100,776 (SCHADS 5.1) plus up to $18,550 salary packaging and super
- Flexibility required, including participation in the on-call roster
About the Role
As a Team Leader at Uniting, you will manage, supervise and coach a team of Support Coordinators.
You will:
- Model and reinforce values in organisational culture and practice: Support and model a culture that promotes the principles of the NDIS, such as upholding rights, celebrating diversity and respecting the voice of those with lived experience.
- Promote quality through consistent good practice: Set clear expectations of what best practice looks like, provide access to support and coaching, and develop worker awareness and capabilities to deliver quality supports and services.
- Support health and manage risk: Implement policies, procedures and systems for effective health and risk management so that workers know their roles and responsibilities, look out for their own safety, and balance dignity of risk with duty of care when supporting participants'.
- Foster and develop a capable workforce: Support workers to understand capability expectations at different levels, provide constructive feedback, and create informal and formal opportunities for them to develop their capabilities and build a career.
What you need to succeed:
Qualifications:
- Diploma in disability/community services/social sciences/allied health
Experience:
- 3 years or more experience in your field of expertise.
- Experienced in leading community-based or disability support teams
- Knowledge of the NDIS Code of Conduct
- Knowledge of the NDIS Practice Standards and the NDIS Act 2013 and rules
- Strong understanding of the complex needs of people with disability and their families / nominees / authorised representatives.
- Experience of effective and contemporary disability support models.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing effective and motivated teams.
- Experience working respectfully with First Nations and CALD communities and delivering culturally competent services.
- Strong partnership-building skills with a track record of achieving shared outcomes.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and client database systems.
- Excellent report writing, time management and record-keeping skills.
Mandatory prerequisite to employment requirements:
- Current Australian driver’s licence.
- National Criminal History Check.
- Working with Children Check.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (Service NSW)
- Awareness of and/or experience with mandatory reporting responsibilities when working with children.
- Ability to participate in an out-of-business-hours on-call roster and work flexibly.
