ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Are you passionate about shaping the future of vocational education? Join ACER as a Senior Project Director, Vocational Education, and play a pivotal role in enhancing our VET projects and engagement within the sector. You’ll lead a small team and collaborate with cross-organisation teams to deliver the Core Skills Profile for Adults (CSPA) to TAFEs and RTOs. This role offers the chance to identify and develop new business development while delivering engaging professional development for trainers. You’ll collaborate with ACER’s expert team of assessment developers to produce assessments and training materials in foundational skills.
Occasional after-hours and weekend work, as well as interstate travel, may be required.
ABOUT YOU
You are a passionate vocational educator with a strong background in adult education, particularly in developing literacy and numeracy skills.
You excel in presentation and workshop facilitation, delivering high-quality professional development to trainers.
You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, allowing you to build productive relationships with a diverse range of people.
You enjoy driving business growth by establishing industry networks.
You have a high-level understanding of the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF).
Your strong project management experience, along with your problem-solving and analytical skills, make you an ideal candidate for this role.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful in this role you must have:
Minimum 5 years’ experience working in Vocational Education and Training.
A demonstrated passion for adult education, particularly in developing literacy and/or numeracy skills.
Excellent presentation and workshop facilitation skills to deliver high-quality professional development to trainers.
High-level understanding of the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF), Digital Literacy Skills Framework (DLSF), and ASQA standards.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to build productive relationships with a diverse range of people.
Experience managing all aspects of a large and/or complex project/program from inception to completion, delivering on time and within budget, with high standards of quality.
Evidence of excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and ability to coordinate required stakeholders to resolve issues and deliver outcomes.
Demonstrated high-level negotiation and influencing skills.
High-level proficiency using MS Office, MS Teams, SharePoint, and LMSs, and experience using and directing refinements to applications and databases.
Experience contributing to marketing and promotional sales activities.

This appointment is offered on an ongoing, full-time basis. This position can be based at any of ACER’s offices located in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth. ACER is currently operating in a hybrid work environment.
Starting salary is $139,004 - $146,319 (plus 17% ACER contribution to superannuation), commensurate with skills and experience.
