Purchasing & Despatch Officer

Drillmech is seeking an experienced Purchasing & Despatch Officer to join our team. This dual-role position is perfect for someone who enjoys working across both the procurement and logistics functions of a busy, fast-paced operation.

You'll be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services while also managing incoming and outgoing deliveries. If you're organised, proactive, and thrive in a hands-on environment—this is your opportunity to make a real impact.

What You’ll Be Doing

Purchasing Responsibilities:

Sourcing suppliers and negotiating best-value deals

Generating and managing purchase orders.

Maintaining accurate procurement and inventory records

Collaborating with managers and supervisors to forecast and meet supply needs

Monitoring supplier performance

Despatch Responsibilities:

Goods receipting of incoming stock

Preparing and generating Outwards Goods Advices (OGAs)

Loading and unloading trucks (safe tie-down & packaging practices essential)

Wrapping and preparing goods for transport

Managing site waste and ordering consumables

Coordinating freight and delivery timelines

What We’re Looking For

3+ years of experience in purchasing and/or despatch/logistics

Solid knowledge of procurement systems and dispatch processes (ERP experience a plus)

Strong attention to detail, organisation, and time management

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Forklift licence and C-Class Driver's License essential

Chain of Responsibility/Load restraint knowledge (highly regarded)
