We are currently seeking Electricians and Instrumentation Technicians with experience on Rio Tinto sites to support a range of ongoing and upcoming projects in Gladstone.

Core Responsibilities

• Deliver E&I install, maintenance, testing & commissioning
• Adhere to WHS, Rio Tinto LSRs & site permit systems
• Interpret electrical drawings, loop diagrams, schematics
• Complete SWMS, JHAs, Take 5s & participate in safety briefings
• Conduct hazardous area work (if certified)
• Maintain documentation using AroFlo/site systems
• Mentor apprentices & contribute to site culture
• Identify/report hazards & non-conformances
• Identify and report hazards, non-conformances, and near misses, contributing to a zero-harm culture.

The ideal candidate

• Trade-qualified Electricians or Dual Trade (Elec + Inst/HVAC)
• Rio Tinto, refinery, or smelter site experience (highly regarded)
• EEHA, fibre terminations, loop checks & control panel work
• Familiar with FLIR, calibrators, multimeters & AroFlo
• Available for DIDO/FIFO in Gladstone

Essentials:

• Australian Recognised Trade Certificate – Electrical and/or Dual Trade Instrumentation
• White Card, Valid CPR/LVR & Driver’s Licence
• National Police Clearance (within 12 months)
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical & D&A
• Ability to complete SWMS, Take 5s, and follow Rio Tinto permit systems.
• Proven experience working in heavy industrial environments
• High personal safety standards and proactive attitude toward compliance
• Solid understanding of WHS and Rio Tinto Life Saving Rules

Desirables:

• Dual Trade (e.g. HVAC + Electrical)
• Hazardous Area Certification (EEHA)
• Rio Tinto inducted (desirable)
• Working at Heights, Confined Space Entry (within 2 years)
• Experience working on Rio Tinto, QAL, or similar Tier 1 industrial sites
• EWP over 11m, First Aid/Fire Warden
• Shutdowns, commissioning & mentoring/ supervising experience
