ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The Infrastructure team focuses on managing the daily presentation of the public domain within the Cumberland City Area, ensuring that it is maintained and presented so that residents and visitors are proud of the area and it meets their expectations.
the Trades Worker will be responsible to perform various forms of maintenance works. The Team Member will ensure they are working efficiently and effectively meeting both Councils and communities expectations through a works program that utilises the industries best practice.
The successful applicant will require:
- Relevant trade qualification i.e. Certificate III in Carpentry, Certificate IV in Building and Construction or equivalent with experience in building maintenance, sign placement, bollards, seat installations, formwork and fence repair and install.
- Knowledge of the industry best practise and issues in building maintenance
- Proficient in the use of computers with the ability to use various software
- Demonstrate a strong customer focus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively complete relevant administration tasks associated with the position.
- Computer literacy, particularly in MS Office and TechOne
- Demonstrate the ability to efficiently plan for and meet timelines
- Current Class MR Drivers License
- Current General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- Current Traffic Control and

About this role:
- Permanent, full-time position
- 35 hour week
- Access to Council's 9 day fortnight Rostered Day Off (RDO) arrangement
- Located at Council's Auburn Depot, with frequent travel required across Council worksites, and may be required to work across any of Council’s work locations
Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
- Grade 6 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,213.90 to $1,487.03 per week, plus 12% superannuation
- The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role
What you'll need to have for this role:
- The right to live and work in Australia
- Be able to provide information for pre-employment checks required for the position, including attending a physical pre-employment medical examination as required
- Participate in health monitoring as outlined in the risk assessment for this position and Council’s Health Monitoring Procedure, as required
- Provide evidence of your vaccination status as part of the employment screening process, in accordance with Council’s COVID-19 Vaccination Procedure.
