Role Overview

As the Data Governance Manager, you will be responsible for establishing and enforcing data governance policies, frameworks, and standards across the organization. You will work closely with stakeholders in data, compliance, IT, and business units to ensure data is well-understood, trusted, and appropriately governed throughout its lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain the enterprise-wide data governance framework.

Define data governance roles and responsibilities across departments.

Lead the Data Governance Council and facilitate collaboration among data owners and stewards.

Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

Oversee data quality initiatives, including data profiling, cleansing, and monitoring.

Establish and maintain metadata management, data lineage, and data classification practices.

Support master data management and data integration projects.

Serve as the primary point of contact for data governance issues and initiatives.

Provide training and guidance to teams on data governance best practices.

Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience (5+ years) in data governance, data management, or related roles.

Strong understanding of data governance principles, frameworks (e.g., DAMA), and regulatory requirements.

Familiarity with data management tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation) and data cataloging solutions.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Experience working in cross-functional teams, ideally in a large or complex organization.

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred)
