Administration Officer - Child and Family Services

Duration: Full time, fixed term until 30 June 2027

Base Salary: $79,827 to $85,067 per annum (Admin 4.1 to 4.4)

Provide administrative and operational support to the Senior Manager - Child and Families Services and other program team managers.

Who are we?

Established in 1991, Danila Dilba Health Service (DDHS) is an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation committed to providing culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care services and community development within the Biluru (Aboriginal) community of the Yilli Rreung (Greater Darwin) Region in the Northern Territory.

We work to address the social determinants of health including the broader issues that affect our people's health, through evidence-based research and public advocacy. We also work to empower individuals, families, and communities to optimise their health.

About the role

This role assists to ensure effective delivery of child and family's programs and integration of services across DDHS.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development, drafting and review of policies and procedures relevant to Child and Families services department.
  • Responsible for maintaining and managing whole of service emails relevant to Child and Families Services and ensuring all emails are actioned in a timely manner.
  • Provide secretariat support for key organisational meetings and regular team/area meetings:
  • Coordinate meetings within child and families services.
  • Arrange meetings, assist with the development of agendas, and take minutes of the meetings.
  • Develop and maintain registers and action lists to track and report the activity of the meetings.
  • Follow-up with relevant leads to ensure reports and documents are submitted.
  • Assist and coordinate development of child and families services promotion materials and health promotions event planning /implementation.

To be successful you will need:

Essential

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in office administration and/or reception.
  • Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and history and knowledge of issues impacting on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills with an ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently, and as a member of a team, with strong organisational skills and demonstrated ability to plan, manage and prioritise tasks.
  • Demonstrated competency in the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Highly developed communication and liaison skills with experience in interacting with people from a wide range of cultural and social backgrounds.
  • Reliable and punctual with a high level of self-motivation and continuous improvement focus.
  • Preparedness to undertake and complete all ANFPP training and other workplace training as required with a willingness to travel interstate for training/ conferences.

Desirable

  • Qualification or working towards qualification in Health Administration or other relevant qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience and competency in working with Communicare.
  • Experience in working in an Aboriginal Community controlled Health Service or similar complex and high-risk clinical environment.

What we offer:

6 weeks annual leave per annum

5 days paid leave during our end of year shut down period (in addition to annual leave).

Salary packaging of up to $15,990 per annum.
