They are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join their Sydney-based finance team. Working closely with the Financial Controller, the role will suit someone who enjoys being hands-on with day-to-day tasks, while also acting as a 2IC and providing supervision and support to the wider team where needed.

The role

Prepare monthly and annual financial statements

Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including journals, reconciliations, and general ledger accuracy

Ensure compliance with tax obligations

Maintain and manage the fixed asset register, including capitalisation, depreciation, and supporting stocktakes

Support payroll processing and reporting

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and treasury reporting

Partner with external auditors, contributing to risk controls and financial compliance

Drive process improvements and support finance system enhancements

Your background

CA/CPA qualified or currently working towards professional accounting certification

2–3 years’ experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role

Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and tax compliance

Experienced in end-to-end month-end processes

Proficient in ERP systems, with SAP B1 experience preferred but not essential

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to collaborate across diverse business stakeholders
