We are a growing hospitality group operating four vibrant and diverse restaurants across Sydney. We're looking for an experienced and proactive In-House Restaurant Accountant to assist our financial operations and help drive business performance.
Position Overview
As the In-House Restaurant Accountant, you will be responsible for the end-to-end financial management of four restaurant locations. You’ll provide accurate and timely financial reporting, liaise with key internal and external stakeholders, and support the leadership team with insights that drive strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting: Prepare and manage monthly financial reports for each venue, including P&Ls, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop, implement, and monitor annual budgets; analyse variances and provide regular updates to management.
Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee day-to-day transactions and ensure timely processing and reconciliation of supplier invoices and customer payments.
Payroll Oversight: Ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing for all staff across venues.
Inventory & Cost Management: Monitor COGS, track variances, and work with venue managers to control costs.
Compliance & Taxation: Ensure timely submission and compliance with all ATO requirements (BAS, IAS, PAYROLL TAX, GST, ASIC, Superannuation).
Stakeholder Management: Liaise with external accountants, auditors, the ATO, software providers, banks, landlords, and key suppliers.
Financial Systems & Controls: Maintain robust financial procedures and implement process improvements to ensure integrity and efficiency.
Business Partnering: Provide insights and support to venue managers and senior leadership to guide financial decision-making.
Qualifications & Skills
Must have Experience working in a Restaurant environment
Degree-qualified in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a similar accounting role, in a hospitality environment
Strong knowledge of Australian financial and tax regulations.
Proficiency with Xero, MYOB (or similar), Excel, and POS integration.
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organisational skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
Must be a Permanent Resident or Citizen
