Position Summary
As the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll function for a large workforce. This role requires a confident, detail-oriented professional with strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills. You will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services while driving continuous improvement in payroll processes, prjects, compliance, and systems.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements
Ensure accurate and timely processing of salaries, superannuation, leave entitlements, tax, and deductions.
Liaise with internal stakeholders including HR, Finance, and IT to support business needs and resolve payroll-related issues.
Provide reporting and insights to senior management, including payroll journals, reconciliations, and month-end reporting.
Stay updated on legislative changes and ensure payroll practices remain compliant.
Drive process improvements and support payroll system upgrades or implementations as required.
Handle audits and statutory reporting including ATO, STP, superannuation, and other relevant bodies.
Key Requirements
Proven experience as a Payroll Manager or Senior Payroll Officer in a large organisation.
Strong working knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation, and Fair Work requirements.
Proficiency in payroll systems Chris21 & Micropay - Essential
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
High attention to detail and commitment to data integrity and confidentiality.
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, HR, or a related field
