💼 Payroll & Finance Specialist

Part-Time | 6-Month Contract | Thomastown VIC

Tri Tech Refrigeration is one of Australia’s largest privately owned industrial refrigeration specialists. Headquartered in Melbourne’s northern suburbs (Thomastown) with operations across multiple states, we design, build and maintain high-performance refrigeration systems — particularly for clients in the food manufacturing and storage sectors.

We’re seeking an experienced and reliable Payroll & Finance Specialist to join our team during a critical period of systems change. This role is ideal for someone confident with end-to-end payroll, multi-entity processing, award and EBA interpretation, and who can also support transactional finance functions as part of a close-knit and collaborative team.

📋 The Role at a Glance

🕒 0.6–0.8 FTE (3-4 full days or 4-5 shorter days per week)

📆 6-month fixed-term contract (through to end of year)

💰 $80,000–$95,000 pro rata (base) + super, or equivalent casual/contractor rate

📍 Thomastown VIC | Hybrid work available

⚙️ Our Environment

We’re currently delivering major systems change, including Payroll (transitioning from Access Attaché to Employment Hero – KeyPay engine) as well as HRIS and ERP.

You’ll help maintain payroll continuity during the transition while contributing to operational and implementation activities across payroll, HR and finance.

🧰 What You’ll Be Doing

Fortnightly Payroll

Manage end-to-end payroll processing, including timesheet follow-up, data validation and cost allocation across multiple entities.

Administer multi-entity pay runs, generate payslips and ABA files, and prepare and reconcile payroll journals.

Ensure compliance with EBAs, awards and legislative obligations.

Administer industry entitlements such as Incolink.

Respond to payroll queries and support internal reporting.

Support the transition to Employment Hero, including system testing, parallel runs and documentation.

Corporate Card & Reimbursement Admin (A/P Support)

Reconcile corporate card transactions and follow up on missing receipts.

Allocate expenses to the correct GL codes and cost centres.

Administer staff reimbursements in line with policy.

Supplier Statement Reconciliations (A/P Support)

Perform supplier reconciliations and identify invoice discrepancies.

Support A/P processing as required, including month-end reconciliation activities.

Collections (A/R Support)

Follow up on overdue accounts and maintain debtor records.

Assist with aged receivables reporting and escalation of outstanding debts.

✅ What You’ll Bring

Payroll experience in a manufacturing, trades or technical environment, including EBAs, awards and industry-specific entitlements (e.g. Incolink).

Experience with Access Attaché and/or Employment Hero (KeyPay) is essential – applicants without this will not be considered.

Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, awards, superannuation, leave and entitlements.

Experience with multi-entity payroll, intercompany allocations and payroll journal reconciliation.

Familiarity with Microsoft 365 ecosystem is highly desirable.

Prior involvement in a payroll, HRIS or ERP system transition is a strong advantage.

High attention to detail, strong time management and confidence working independently in a part-time setting.
