About the role:
As the Building Strong Foundations Child and Family Health Nurse, you will deliver culturally safe and informed health services to Aboriginal children aged 0–5 years and their families within the Lower Mid-North Coast region.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside an Aboriginal Health Worker, you will provide compassionate, person-centred care, helping to promote health equity in line with Closing the Gap initiatives.
You will collaborate closely with the Aboriginal Maternal and Infant Health Service, sharing care to ensure continuity and support for families. The role is job-shared with another part-time nurse, promoting strong teamwork and work-life balance.
Orientation and role-specific mandatory training will be provided, as well as ongoing professional development including monthly clinical supervision and opportunities to connect with other BSF teams across the Local Health District.

About you:
You are a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse who:
Holds current Authority to Practice with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Has relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years’ experience in Child and Family Health
Has completed a postgraduate qualification in Child and Family Health Nursing
Communicates effectively with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Brings cultural competence and understanding of the unique health and social challenges faced by Aboriginal families
Thrives in a team environment and enjoys collaboration
Is committed to health equity and Closing the Gap initiatives
Requirements:
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
Relevant post-registration qualifications with a postgraduate qualification in Child and Family Health Nursing
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Child and Family Health
Ability to work collaboratively with Aboriginal communities in a culturally safe manner
Strong communication and teamwork skills

* Based on a minimum 18-month commitment to the position or the agreed duration of your contract. All payments to part-time and contract employees will be made on a pro-rata basis in accordance with the terms of your contract, including any approved extensions.
