This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (conditions apply and may be pro-rata’d to your contracted or ordinary working hours, these payments are paid on a fortnightly basis) under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.
This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.

Provide advanced specialist nursing care and lead the development of expert clinical practice and service delivery to ensure high-quality, effective care for patients and clients with complex needs.

How to apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible.
- Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Postgraduate qualifications in the speciality of Child and Family Health and at least 3 years fulltime equivalent clinical experience in the specialty.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Indigenous Child and family health issues and ability to provide complex care to Aboriginal families and advanced clinical skills using professional knowledge and judgement as per the BSF service standards.
- Demonstrated effective communication including verbal, written and interpersonal skills and information technology skills to provide complex specialty services and influence innovative nursing practice.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively both independently and as part of the multidisciplinary health care team.
- Demonstrated clinical expertise and clinical leadership in the specialty, including ability to develop nursing clinical practice and service delivery.
- Current unrestricted NSW driver's license and willingness to travel to communities in rural and remote locations.
- Demonstrated ability to practice in accordance with the Registered Nurse Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and Code of Professional Conduct for Nurses (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia).

About Far West NSW Local Health District
Bordering three states, Far West Local Health District (LHD) covers 194,949 square kilometres in remote NSW. The LHD is sparsely populated, with 62% of its approximately 30,000 inhabitants living in the Silver City of Broken Hill. The remainder of the population live in agricultural towns along the Murray River, in small remote communities of 80-800 people or on stations throughout the LHD. Far West LHD is the most sparsely populated LHD in NSW and has the highest proportion of Aboriginal residents (9.6%). The population is decreasing, ageing and experiencing significant morbidity related to lifestyle factors and chronic illness.
