Who we are looking for
Join a purpose-driven team supporting people impacted by institutional childhood abuse through complex areas of the National Redress Scheme. This rewarding role offers the chance to create meaningful change and contribute to innovative, trauma-informed services.
To be successful in this role you will have have:
- Tertiary qualification (AQF Level 7) in Social Work, Psychology or related discipline or equivalent demonstrated knowledge and competencies appropriate to the work.
- Experience with project coordination, collaborative practice, and stakeholder relations.
- Experience in trauma informed practice.
It would be a bonus if you have:
- Experience working with clients who have experienced childhood trauma.
- Experience working with individuals, couples, or families in a therapeutic context.
What you will be doing
The Redress Project Officer is responsible for ensuring clients who are engaged in complex areas of the National Redress Scheme, namely the Special Processes Team, have further information required of them provided in a timely manner and are receiving advocacy in the aim of receiving a positive outcome from the NRS.
- Actively case managing clients engaged with the National Redress Scheme who require ongoing advocacy, liaison, and further information in relation to the Special Processes Team (serious criminal convictions, and disputed eligibility criteria).
- Provide ongoing advocacy and support to clients currently engaged with knowmore legal service, managing the client’s information, expectations, and stress.
- Engage clients positively, in a trauma-informed manner and provide warm referral to therapeutic supports if client requires ongoing therapeutic work related or not related to childhood sexual abuse.
- Work with the Redress Coordinator to assess needs to team caseload to determine if clients require therapeutic case management from a case worker or ongoing task focused case management related to a NRS Special Process.
- Develop and maintain strategic interagency collaboration, networks and partnerships within Adelaide metropolitan area and regional areas.
- Be responsible for the delivery of culturally relevant and accessible services and for bringing considerations of ‘cultural fitness’ and cultural safety to all aspects of the work.
