We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer to lead the technical design, build, testing, and deployment of robust data solutions—including data platforms and pipelines. This role is pivotal in maintaining and optimising the Microsoft Fabric environment to ensure data integrity, performance, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and manage the Microsoft Fabric environment, including system configuration, performance monitoring, and optimisation.
Build and maintain data pipelines and workflows using Fabric components such as Dataflows, Pipelines, and Lakehouses.
Ensure adherence to data quality, security, and governance standards across the platform.
Provide expert input to guide data strategy, architecture, and policy development.
Manage and maintain the Bronze (raw), Silver (cleansed), and Gold (curated) data layers to support reporting, analytics, and business insights.
Skills and experience we need from you:
3–5 years’ experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or analytics roles, ideally within the public sector or large enterprise environments.
Proven experience delivering solutions using Microsoft Fabric.
Strong Microsoft Azure expertise, including:
Azure Data Factory
Azure Data Lake Storage
Azure SQL
Solid experience with the Microsoft BI Stack, including:
SSIS, SSRS, Power BI, and T-SQL
SSAS and MDX (desirable)
Hands-on experience deploying web applications using SharePoint.
Familiarity with TFS for version control and managing releases/deployments.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
Microsoft certifications in Azure or Fabric technologies (preferred).
Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy, integrity, and quality.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be detail oriented, analytical, and inquisitive, with the ability to work independently and with others, organised with strong time-management skills.
