The Opportunity

As part of the University’s digital transformation and the centralisation of procurement, a newly created role has emerged for a Senior Manager, Source to Contract (S2C) within the Strategic Procurement Unit. This pivotal leadership position is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end sourcing and contracting lifecycle, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, compliance with procurement policies, and delivery of value for money. You will lead the development and implementation of procurement governance frameworks and policy settings, while driving innovation, digital systems adoption, and process automation across the function.

About You

To thrive in this role, you will bring:

  • A postgraduate qualification and extensive relevant experience in procurement, supply chain, business, law, finance, or a related discipline; or equivalent senior management experience.
  • Deep understanding of procurement regulations and best practices within higher education, government, or the public sector.
  • Extensive knowledge in procurement policy, risk management, and ESG principles, including modern slavery compliance.
  • Proven leadership in managing high-performing teams through transformation.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and influencing skills at senior levels.
  • Demonstrated success in driving process improvement, change management, and digital procurement transformation in a centre-led model.
  • Exceptional analytical, decision-making, and risk management capabilities.

Desirable Attributes

  • Familiarity with Technology One CiA and/or ServiceNow is advantageous, though not essential; an openness to learning new systems is key.
  • Industry certifications such as CIPS, MCIPS, or equivalent accreditation.
  • A background in technology or digital procurement is highly regarded.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Services department delivers high-quality financial products and governance that support the University’s strategic goals. The team encompasses Corporate Accounting and Treasury, Financial Planning and Reporting, Finance Business Support & Advisory, and Strategic Procurement (Source to Pay).

Within this, Strategic Procurement is leading a transformation to a centre-led model, enhancing procurement efficiency, supplier relationships, and cost savings.
