About the Role
As our new Senior Advisor, Strategic Workforce Development, you will lead and contribute to the design, implementation and evaluation of high-impact programs that build the capability of the NSW public sector workforce. You will use research and workforce data to develop evidence-based strategies that align with sector priorities and address emerging trends, challenges and opportunities.
A key part of your role will be working collaboratively with agencies and internal stakeholders to provide tailored advice and support on workforce capability and strategic workforce planning. You'll develop tools, resources and initiatives that support long-term workforce sustainability and capability uplift across the sector. You'll also contribute to government-wide reform and drive innovation in workforce practices.
You'll join a passionate and future-focused team in the Workforce Strategy unit within the Workforce Planning Branch of the People and Workforce Group, playing a central role in shaping a capable, responsive and diverse public sector.

We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Workforce Strategy & Development Expertise: Proven experience in developing and implementing strategic workforce initiatives, particularly in capability development, leadership pipelines, or workforce planning framework
- Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience in human resources, business, organisational development, project management, or a related field
- Project Delivery Skills: Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects end-to-end, including scoping, research, stakeholder engagement, change management and evaluation.
- Strong Analytical & Research Capabilities: Ability to analyse workforce data and research to shape policy and program design, and to present findings clearly in briefs and reports
- Effective Communication & Advisory Skills: Confident in writing clearly and succinctly, tailoring communications to a range of audiences, and delivering expert workforce-related advice to senior stakeholders
- Knowledge of the NSW Public Sector: Understanding of the NSW Government's strategic workforce priorities or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge
- Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support implementation of strategic program.
