LIONS@springwood is the official social club of the Brisbane Lions based in Springwood. Our venue offers over 200 state of the art gaming machines, TAB facilities, our Cage Bar with plenty of TVs for the sport fans, the 5th Quarter Restaurant with an incredible variety of meals to suit everyone and an enclosed kids’ area.

About the Role:

As our Commis Chef, you’ll play a crucial role in assisting our culinary team with meal preparation in accordance with menu items and customer orders to create dishes that make lasting impressions.

We are looking for multiple positions with full-time and casual opportunities available.

What You’ll be Doing:

Responsible for assisting Head/Sous Chef with preparation prior to service

Ensure individual section is ready to meet daily operations

Ensure the effective and efficient preparation of all menu items to a consistently high standard

Supervision of junior kitchen staff to ensure consistency and quality across all areas of the kitchen

Regular communicate with Head/Sous Chef of any shortages in stock or ordered required for the following days

Ensure sufficient stock is on hand and daily prep is completed to make the full menu offering available while avoiding waste

Ensure HACCP and WHS compliance, displaying a strong commitment to meeting Food Safety Standards

What You’ll Need:

Previous experience as a Commis Chef with Club experience highly advantageous

Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or relevant qualifications

Food Safety Supervisor Certificate or willingness to obtain

Passion for food and creating memorable dining experiences

Ability to thrive under pressure and in fast-paced environments

Collaborative and dynamic team player

Immaculate personal presentation and professional conduct

Flexibility to work a rotating 7-day roster, including nights and weekends
