Marketing and Communications Officer – Canning Agricultural, Horticultural and Recreational Society (CAHRS)
We are seeking a positive and energetic early career graduate to join the dynamic staff team at the Canning Agricultural, Horticultural and Recreational Society Inc. (CAHRS) and coordinate the Marketing and Communications functions of the organisation.
CAHRS is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to enriching the lives of our community. We own and operate the Cannington Exhibition Centre and Showgrounds, including five state of the art function halls and associated grounds.
Our Marketing and Communications Officer is responsible for the efficient and effective coordination and administration of CAHRS marketing functions for a wide range of workshops, classes, branding exercises and events, including the annual Canning Show. The position is also responsible for supporting the various digital engagement channels to communicate and promote CAHRS operations. To engage current and prospective members and the general community, through digital strategy implementation, and creating compelling content across a range of digital channels and the CAHRS web sites. The role liaises with stakeholders to coordinate, create, moderate and distribute a range of written and visual digital content.

Role of the Position:
The role of the Marketing and Communications Officer is to oversee the marketing, communications, promotions, public relations and digital media content through:
· Planning: In consultation with the CEO plan, develop and document the annual marketing, promotions and engagement strategy including objectives and achievable key performance indicators
· Brand Development: Establish and promote CAHRS brand identity to enhance visibility and recognition within the members, community and among stakeholders
· Content Creation: Develop engaging content for various platforms, including newsletters, social media, and the organisation’s website, to communicate CAHRS mission, programs, and events effectively
· Event Promotion: Coordinate marketing efforts for events, workshops, and special interest group activities, ensuring effective promotion to increase participation and awareness of CAHRS initiatives
· Research and Analysis: Conduct market research to understand audience needs and preferences, analyse communication effectiveness, and adapt strategies accordingly to maximize impact
· Reporting: report monthly the progress, KPI’s and financial status of the marketing area
To be successful, you will have:
· Demonstrated experience developing and implementing communication and engagement strategies and plans
· Demonstrated skills in planning and managing marketing campaigns to deliver on time, on budget, and positive impactful results
· Demonstrated experience in a wide variety of current digital and social platforms and technologies
· Exceptional abilities to communicate in impactful ways - verbally, visually, and written – with a strong ability to target diverse people and audiences
· Public relations experience, including pitching and managing media stories, photoshoots etc
· Experience in managing multi-faceted media advertising campaigns
· Ability to use initiative and work both independently and within a team environment

While standard hours are 8.30am to 5.00pm, the nature of the industry means that you will be required to work outside these hours particularly around major events facilitated by CAHRS.
