We are currently seeking a permanent full-time staff member to join our team based at our offices in Sunshine.

The role

In this role, you will report to the Senior Biodiversity Officer (Operations) and play an essential role in maintaining and restoring grasslands and grassy ecosystems within the Brimbank area whilst working with a dedicated team passionate about grassy ecosystems.

We are seeking a person who can bring their skills and experience for:

  • Planning, coordination and monitoring on-ground works programs
  • Engaging, supervising and managing contractors to implement adaptive management programs
  • Seeking funding opportunities, developing applications and delivering successful grants
  • Establishing links and partnerships with stakeholders
  • Understanding of Federal and State Government Policies, Codes of Practice and other regulatory requirements as they relate to the conservation land management.

To be considered you will have:

  • Strong botanical knowledge with specific understanding of grasslands and grassy ecosystems.
  • Experience working on the ground in conservation land management
  • Technical knowledge of effective pest plant and animal control, conservation land management practices, assessment of works and maintenance techniques to proactively manage Brimbank's conservation assets
  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Botany, Natural Resource Management, Ecological Science, other related field or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in development and implementation of project plans, site plans or conservation based plans
  • Local government experience is desirable
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence, Working with Children Check and Level 2 First Aid
