Permanent part-time, 5 days per fortnight (37.5 hours) 0.5FTE with option to increase to 6 days per fortnight (45 hours) 0.6FTE as required.
About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Finance Manager. The role is responsible for the overall finance functions of the organisation, including financial and management reporting, audit support, budgeting and forecasting, accounts payable and receivable, period end processes, payroll, funds management, reporting and acquittals.
What you’ll be doing
Financial and management accounting
Prepare management reports as required
Manage and oversee processing of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
Reconciliation of all General Ledger accounts and relevant journals
Manage the development of annual budgets and monthly forecasts
Present financial performance reporting to the Finance Committee and Executive team
Provide analysis of variances between actual results and budget/forecast
Review and analyse financial and non-financial data to identify trends and variances to assist the Board and Executive team to make informed decisions relating to OUP’s financial management and performance
Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company
Effective and timely support in the development of funding applications and reporting, in conjunction with the relevant staff
Manage bank accounts to maximise interest returns
Payroll and administration
Process fortnightly payroll for all employees (core staff, casuals, part time, contractors)
Process end of financial year payroll ATO reporting requirements
Develop and maintain appropriate templates to enable financial analysis including costing, financial modelling, trend analysis, and the streamlining of finance tasks
Liaise with Admin and Finance Coordinator to maintain all staff files
Identify opportunities for operational improvements and implement accordingly
Promote strong governance and control in the organisation
Streamline financial processes including reporting
Statutory compliance
Ensure all BAS and IAS returns are lodged on time
Process all superannuation payments
Ensure all EOFY PAYG & payroll tax obligations are completed on time
Coordinate the annual audit
Process and submit the ACNC Annual Information Statement
Ensure annual Workcover remuneration is calculated and submitted on time
Associated duties
Undertake other duties which are appropriate to the level of the position, as directed by the Co-CEOs
Act in accordance with OUP’s values, policies and procedures
Cooperate with all health and safety policies and procedures and take all reasonable care for their own and others health and safety
Contribute to the development and presentation of finance related training to key stakeholders and staff as required
Financial governance on an annual basis in line with GAAP
Responsiveness to business needs
What we’re looking for
Degree in Accounting (preferred)
CA/CPA qualified or in progress (preferred)
4 years plus post qualification experience in similar role
Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow modelling, audit, tax and compliance obligations accounting
Affinity with the northern suburbs of Melbourne (preferred)
Connection with the non-profit or arts/community services sector (preferred)
Ability to analyse and communicate financial information
Ability to take initiative, research and resolve issues
Experience working with external auditors (preferred)
MYOB experience (preferred)
Advanced skills in Excel and proficient across a range of MS Office
Experience working with NFPs (preferred)
Strong written communication skills
Demonstrated cultural competency and experience working with structurally marginalised communities is highly valued. Where direct experience is limited, applicants should be able to reflect on their skill gaps and outline practical steps they would take to build their cultural knowledge and understanding

reduced daily hours based on a pro-rata 5-day week (working 7.5 hours per day including half hour lunch break)
