SALARY: Nurse Manager 4, Employed under NSW Public Health Systems Nurses' and Midwives' (State) Award 2023 Variation

An exciting opportunity to apply for a nurse manager (NM4) position has arisen at the Brown Nurses, a community-based nursing organisation located in inner city Glebe and providing care to our clients living in the City of Sydney, Local Government Area.

The Brown Nurses provide high quality care to vulnerable people experiencing isolation, who are at risk of homelessness and have been marginalised from accessing health and welfare services whilst experiencing chronic-complex health conditions. Our unique service aims to support our clients to actively engage in healthcare and access the health services of their choice. We partner with local services to provide assessment, treatment, education, support and referral utilising a trauma informed and harm minimisation approach.

Our Education and Workforce Nurse Manager will work closely with the Director of Nursing to enhance and develop the Brown Nurse Workforce through innovative workforce planning and by providing professional development opportunities to build on the existing skills and knowledge of the Brown Nurses Team. The Nurse Manager will development, implement, and evaluate education programs to support operational activities and meet the needs of staff working within clinical environments and ensure evidence informed principles have been utilised in the development of curriculum, programs, policies and procedures within the clinical environment and broader organisation. Our Education and Workforce Manager will also be responsible for the implementation, co-ordination, and management of the Brown Nurse Volunteer Program.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential Criteria-

Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of the Brown Nurses and Our Lady’s Nurses for the Poor

Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency

Workforce, education and operational management experience at a senior level within a complex healthcare environment, using demonstrable negotiation and conflict resolution skills

Post-graduate management /leadership qualifications and other relevant post- graduate qualifications

Demonstrated ability to lead innovative multidisciplinary educational strategies, tools and approaches including e-learning

Sound leadership skills and ability to meet deadlines along with a sound understanding and evidence of financial, human resource and budget principles

Proven high level interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and an aptitude to utilise relevant information technology platforms.

Demonstrated experience in strategic planning processes including strategic planning for multidisciplinary education, workforce development and volunteer programs and an ability to provide clear and concise plans and reports

Current NSW Driver’s License
