About the Role
A Nurse Practitioner is a registered nurse educated and authorised to function autonomously and collaboratively in an advanced and extended clinical role. As Nurse Practitioner you will be responsible for providing general nursing care to patients with the additional ability to undertake tasks such as assisting in emergency medical responses, prescription of medications/vaccinations, ordering diagnostic investigations and direct referral to other health care professionals.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
- The ability to complete 2 weeks full time minimum for training in first contract.
- Commitment to consistently complete a minimum of 2-week full time contracts in a 3-month period (either x2 one week block or x1 two-week blocks)
- A current Australian Citizenship in order to obtain an AGSVA baseline security clearance as a requirement of the role.
- Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner).
- Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1), General and Endorsed Nurse Practitioner with AHPRA.
- Context of Nurse Practitioner registration shall be within a general adult acute care setting and primary health care environment (excluding practitioners with narrow fields of sub-specialities including paediatrics, geriatrics, oncology, neonatology and midwifery).
- Minimum of 2 years full-time (or part-time equivalent) nurse practitioner experience within a general adult acute care setting, primary health care environment, or military setting within the last 5 years.
