We’re seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance operations at our poultry processing abattoir. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the reliability of plant equipment, reducing downtime, and overseeing a small but capable team of tradespeople and contractors.

This is a senior, full-time position reporting to the Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and schedule maintenance staff to support production

Develop and oversee preventative maintenance programs

Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical breakdowns

Ensure compliance with WHS, food safety and regulatory standards (e.g. HACCP, AS 4465)

Maintain accurate maintenance records

Liaise with contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders

Manage maintenance budgets and spare parts inventory

What You’ll Bring

Trade qualified (mechanical or electrical) with hands-on experience

Prior leadership experience in a maintenance or engineering role (food processing or FMCG preferred)

Solid knowledge of production machinery, pneumatics, hydraulics, refrigeration and electrical systems

Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
