About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Facilities Manager to oversee the strategic and operational management of our facilities in Sydney. This pivotal role involves ensuring the efficient operation of all physical aspects of our facilities, creating and maintaining safe, functional, and productive environments for all occupants.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Operational Oversight: Develop and implement comprehensive facilities management strategies, encompassing maintenance, security, and space utilisation.

Budget & Resource Management: Prepare and manage budgets for facilities operations, ensuring cost-effective solutions and resource allocation.

Compliance & Safety: Ensure all facilities comply with relevant legislation, regulations, and safety standards, conducting regular audits and risk assessments.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Oversee contracts and relationships with service providers, ensuring high-quality service delivery and performance standards.

Project Management: Lead and manage facilities-related projects, including refurbishments, upgrades, and relocations, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.

Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor facilities staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture.

Essential Criteria

Proven experience in facilities management, preferably within the public sector or large-scale organisations.

Strong understanding of building systems, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.

Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.

Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Relevant qualifications in facilities management, property, or a related field.

Desirable Criteria

Experience working within a government or public sector environment.

Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices in facilities management.

Familiarity with asset management systems and software.
