Be part of a Tier 1 mining client's landmark decarbonisation and energy transition journey. As a Health & Safety Advisor, you'll play a key role supporting large-scale solar and renewable energy construction projects by promoting a proactive, engaged safety culture on site.
This is a unique opportunity to join a high-performing, collaborative team delivering major infrastructure projects that are shaping Australia's clean energy future.
Key Responsibilities
Support the implementation of the Fortescue Health & Safety Management System across major green energy construction projects
Engage with leadership and frontline teams to drive safety performance, coach behaviours and support proactive risk management
Conduct field leadership activities, planned task observations, workplace inspections and critical control monitoring
Review safety documentation including JHAs, permits and high-risk certificates to ensure compliance
Lead and support incident investigations (ICAM), safety reporting and monthly audits
Collaborate with contractors to meet safety KPIs and support onboarding, mobilisation and field-based inductions
Actively participate in major hazard programs and site-based safety initiative
Support accurate and timely reporting using systems like Power BI, Tableau and BMS
About You
5+ years' experience in construction, mining, processing or oil & gas environments
Tertiary qualification in Health & Safety or related discipline (required)
Strong track record in contractor safety management and risk control
Confident communicator with strong leadership and coaching capability
Knowledge of WHS and mine safety legislation; experience with ISO 45001 & AS4801 systems
ICAM trained with a current WA "C" or "CA" Class Driver's Licence
Desirable: Lead Auditor certification, Cert IV TAE, Cert IV Leadership & Management
