Urapuntja Health Service Aboriginal Corporation (UHS) is seeking a part-time general practitioner to support our community controlled health service in remote NT, via a work from home arrangement. Be at the forefront of this exciting pilot program providing remote support, in collaboration with our on-site clinical team, using the Visionflex platform - https://www.visionflex.com/product/products/software/vision/software. Our goal is the provide the highest standard of primary health care to the Alywarr communities, the First Nations people of Utopia Homelands.

Understanding of and experience with Aboriginal community controlled health sector preferred, but for GPs new to this sector, cultural training and assistance is available. Proficiency in using telehealth platforms and EMR systems is a must.

It is envisaged that the role will be part-time (approximately 25 hours per week) aligning with clinic hours (NT time zone) on commencement, but this may increase as the program matures.

National Police Clearance (within 3 months) and NT Ochre Card (working with children) is mandatory for these positions. We will assist with application and cost of checks.

Periodic on-site visits to gain a strong understanding of the Community and service will be provided.

The Urapuntja Health Service is in Amengernterneah, 23 km north of Arlparra, off the Sandover Highway. Our Health Service team (comprising Clinical and Social Emotional Wellbeing Teams) provide services through our main clinic and Wellbeing Centre at Amengernterneah and as a mobile outreach team, visiting 900+ residents of 16 Homeland communities. About You

To be successful in this unique telehealth role, the successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

Qualifications and Experience:

Current registration as a General Practitioner with AHPRA.

Fellowship with RACGP or ACRRM

Demonstrated experience in delivering telehealth services is highly desirable.

Current medical indemnity insurance with telehealth coverage

Valid Medicare Provider Number or eligibility to obtain one

Eligible to work as a medical practitioner in Australia with unrestricted work rights

Skills and Knowledge:

Strong understanding of Aboriginal health and the social determinants of health affecting remote communities.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to establish trust and rapport via telehealth.

Proficiency in using telehealth platforms and EMR systems.

Cultural Competency:

Commitment to working collaboratively with Aboriginal communities and respecting their culture, traditions, and values.

Experience working in or with remote Aboriginal communities is advantageous.

Personal Attributes:

Self-motivated and able to work independently while maintaining team collaboration.

Adaptability and problem-solving skills to navigate the challenges of remote healthcare delivery.

A genuine passion for improving healthcare outcomes in under-served communities.
