About the role
We manage custodial and transport operations across Justice Services in Northern Territory including Local Court and Watch Houses across the Darwin region. Our Custody and Transport Supervisors are responsible for the day to day supervision and management of our Custody and Transport Officers. You'll oversee supervision of frontline operations, including custodial management, transportation, court-related duties, and medical escorts. You'll also act as a key point of contact for clients, contractors, and other key stakeholders.
More specifically you'll be responsible for:
Operational Management and Supervision
- Oversee daily operations, including staffing, scheduling, and resource optimisation, to ensure safe, efficient, and effective service delivery under the Justice Services Contract.
- Provide direct leadership and performance management to Custody and Transport Officers, fostering a culture of compliance, continuous improvement, and safety.
- Manage operational incidents, enforce security protocols, address OHS issues, and ensure equipment/vehicle readiness to mitigate risks and maintain a secure environment.
Stakeholder and Client Management:
- Organise and coordinate external escorts as required, liaising with relevant agencies and personnel.
- Liaise with subcontractors regarding vehicle servicing, prisoner meals, computer systems, and security, ensuring service delivery aligns with operational needs
Custodial and Court Operations:
- Supervise the effective operation of court proceedings and various custodial environments, including correctional/law enforcement facilities, court holding areas, and medical facility settings.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and complete submission of all compliance documentation and operational reports by Custody and Transport Officers.
What we're looking for
- Demonstrated supervision experience in a correctional, custody, or security setting.
- You hold a full and current Australian driver's licence
- Full availability to work a 24/7 rotating roster
The recruitment process

- Attending an onsite interview in Darwin with 2 members of the G4S team
- Background checks, including a national police check, reference checks, and a medical assessment
- A SAFE NT corrections clearance - submit and receive a full clearance from Corrections and Police NT for approval to work after training
