Customer Service Officer – Fixed Term / Part Time

The City of Karratha are seeking a dedicated and professional Customer Service Officer to join our team as the first point of contact for the Council. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for delivering high-level customer service to the community through front counter reception, telephone, and email communication.
You will also provide essential internal support to Council Officers, assisting with daily receptionist, cashier, and administrative tasks as needed.
Additionally, you will work closely with the Customer Service Supervisor and fellow team members to ensure consistent, accurate, and helpful service to both the public and internal stakeholders.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide high level customer service to the community through front counter reception, telephone and email correspondence
- Provide internal customer services support to Council Officers in relation to day to day receptionist / cashier / administrative requirements as directed
- Provide support to the Customer Service Supervisor and other Customer Service Officers
This position is based on a rolling roster over a 4-week period, consisting of an average of 39.5 hours per fortnight.
The required working hours are as the following:
- Week 1: Monday - 8:30 - 4:45 / Thursday- 8:30 - 4:45
- Week 2: Monday - 8:30 - 4:45 / Wednesday - 8:00 - 4:00 / Thursday- 8:30 - 4:45
- Week 3: Monday- 8:30 - 4:45 / Thursday - 8:30 - 4:45 / Friday 8:00 - 4:00
- Week 4 Monday- 8:30 - 4:45 / Tuesday - 8:00 - 4:00 / Thursday - 8:30 - 4:45
What You’ll Bring:
- Demonstrated experience in a similar position that includes cash handling, reception and word processing duties
- Developed keyboard and computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products
- Experience in Local Government environment (desirable)
- Current C Class driver’s licence
- National (or Federal) Police Certificate (no more than 6 months old)
