Job Title: Tourism Experiences Lead
Location: Perth, WA
Salary: $105,000 + 12% super + $2,000 PD allowance
Contract: 12-month pilot role (potential for extension)

Destination Perth is the Perth region's peak destination marketing organisation responsible for promoting the city and surrounds as a desirable leisure destination. We work collaboratively with various stakeholders to deliver cohesive destination marketing activities to increase visitation to our stunning region.
Destination Perth is seeking an experienced and passionate Tourism Experiences Lead to spearhead the development of exciting new tourism experiences across the region. This is a 12-month pilot position, offering the opportunity to create real impact in tourism development in Perth and surrounds.
This is more than a development role — it's a strategic opportunity to design and activate tourism products that improve regional dispersal, drive visitation, and strengthen partnerships with industry stakeholders.

About the Role
Working with the CEO, you will lead the planning and implementation of tourism experience development across our region. This includes identifying product gaps, co-designing new experiences with operators and local governments, and supporting tourism businesses to connect to distribution channels and campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
• Engage with a range of stakeholders to identify tourism experience gaps and opportunities.
• Collaborate with local governments, tourism operators, and Aboriginal stakeholders to co-design experiences.
• Develop new or enhanced tourism packages and link them into distribution systems.
• Coordinate workshops and mentoring activities to build tourism business capability.
• Represent Destination Perth at industry events, forums, and development working groups.
• Report to the CEO and Board on progress, KPIs and deliverables.
• Coordinate with the marketing team to integrate new products into campaigns and promotional assets.
• Oversee delivery and budget for product development initiatives.
• Assist in identifying funding opportunities or co-investment for sustainability post-pilot phase.

About You
You’re a dynamic tourism professional with a passion for product development, innovation, and collaboration. You understand what makes a tourism experience market-ready and have the skills to bring stakeholders along the journey.
Essential Criteria
• Proven experience in tourism product development or regional activation roles.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
• Experience working with local governments and tourism operators.
• Knowledge of tourism product packaging, bookable experience frameworks and itinerary design.
• Creative thinking and collaborative mindset.
• Strong communication, reporting and project delivery skills.
• Understanding of the WA tourism environment and distribution channels.
• Ability to work autonomously, travel locally and manage multiple priorities.
Desirable
• Tertiary qualifications in tourism, regional development or business.
• Familiarity with digital marketing or tourism distribution systems.
• Experience working with Traditional Owners and remote stakeholders.
