Our Client is a CBD based property manager looking to add an experienced Property/Trust Accountant to their team.

The role
This is an end to end role, encompassing the trust accounting of a commercial property portfolio. Including management of the financial transactions and reporting for the property trust, ensuring compliance with regulations and accurate financial records.

Key responsibilities:

• Liaise with external property agents
• Reconcile monthly net property income reports produced by property agents to internal accounting ledgers
• Perform daily bank reconciliations
• Cashflow management
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice entry, invoice approval and preparation of payment batches
• Reconciliation of intercompany fees and charges
• Processing capital expenditure requests
• Manage and reconcile the Fixed Asset registers
• Month end closing activities including the processing of monthly journals
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
• Preparation of monthly Business Activity Statements
• Preparation of monthly accounts and month end reporting
• Prepare annual workpaper files for year-end audits
• Provide analytical support and ad-hoc reporting as required
• Assist in preparation of budgets and reforecasting
• Processing of distribution payments to unitholders

About you

• This role is full-time in the office based in the CBD.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in accounting
• Degree in Accounting
• Postgrad/CPA/CA (desirable)
• Can do attitude and strong work ethic
