Position 1: Leading Hand / 2IC – Geosynthetics Installation

About the Role:
The Leading Hand supports the Site Supervisor in daily operations and geomembrane installation while remaining hands-on. This role ensures work quality, crew coordination, and compliance with safety and technical standards.

Responsibilities:

Oversee and participate in installation of HDPE/LLDPE geomembranes, GCLs, and geotextiles

Supervise plastic welding using extrusion and wedge techniques

Conduct destructive and non-destructive testing (vacuum, pressure, peel)

Allocate tasks and support crew coordination

Step in as acting Site Supervisor when required

Promote WHS standards and liaise with inspectors

Skills & Qualifications:

3+ years in geomembrane installation or 5+ years in civil construction

Leadership experience (Foreman, Senior Welder, etc.)

Strong plastic welding expertise (HDPE, LLDPE)

Valid Driver's License (manual), White Card

IAGI or TWI certification (preferred)

Medically fit to pass coal board medical

Working at Heights certification (required)

Salary Range: AUD 80,000 – AUD 90,000 per annum (exclusive of superannuation)

Position 2: Welder – Metal & Plastic Fabrication

About the Role:
The Welder will support geosynthetic installations through both metal welding tasks and plastic welding of containment liners. Training in HDPE/LLDPE welding provided.

Responsibilities:

Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding for fabrication

Execute plastic welding using hot wedge and extrusion methods

Assist in liner deployment and seam preparation

Collaborate with team on installations and safety compliance

Skills & Qualifications:

Experience in metal welding

Willingness to train in plastic welding techniques

Trade qualification in welding preferred

Ability to interpret construction drawings

Physically fit and team-oriented

Salary Range: AUD 76,515 – AUD 82,000 per annum (exclusive of superannuation)
