Strategic leadership opportunity in civil / construction contracting

My client is a privately-owned civil and construction contractor, based equidistant to Brisbane and The Gold Coast, known for delivering complex projects with consistency and control. Their brand is built on trust, execution, and performance in some of the toughest environments in the country. With a strong pipeline already underway, they are seeking a tactile Contracts Manager to lead commercial oversight and drive project success through best-practice contract management.

This role is hands-on where it counts, but with genuine strategic responsibility. You’ll report to the CFO, working closely with the Projects Director to ensure commercial integrity across every stage of delivery—from initial contract review through to final account settlement. You'll oversee a team of Contract Administrators, lead dispute resolution efforts, manage insurance engagement, and embed a planning approach that reflects the real-world risks of site remediation and construction.

You will need to understand subcontractor and head contractor relationships inside out. This role is not about paperwork—it’s about outcomes, foresight, and negotiation strength. You’ll bring commercial rigor to project planning, shape the terms of engagement, and protect margins without compromising on delivery.

A track record of managing contracts in the construction, civil, or resources sector; deep experience dealing with both head contracts and subcontractors; and the ability to balance commercial discipline with collaborative leadership will place you in a strong position to be considered for this leadership role with an industry winner. You are either a hands-on Contracts Manager, willing to “lead by example” and rolling your sleeves up, or you could be a Senior CA ready to step into a management role. We are open to either.
