At Endeavour Foundation, we are here to help people with intellectual disabilities and other barriers to employment to succeed in their careers. We work to ensure that the more than 2000 employees we support are part of a safe, fun and inclusive team, have their needs and interests prioritised, and can be themselves.

When you join our team, you are supporting people with disabilities to live, learn, work and flourish. Our team embodies our purpose daily, embracing diverse ideas and perspectives that enrich our culture. We call ourselves #teampossible!

Make an Impact

As the Recycling Manager overseeing the Buderim and Caloundra sites, you will play a pivotal leadership role in managing daily operations, driving commercial success, and ensuring exceptional service delivery.

Reporting to the Operations Manager – Recycling/Waste, you will be responsible for overseeing contract compliance, leading and mentoring a multidisciplinary team, and implementing strategic initiatives that align with broader organisational goals.

This role requires strong stakeholder engagement, a commitment to safety and environmental standards, and the ability to manage performance while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Your leadership will directly contribute to the success of Endeavour Foundation’s resource recovery operations, helping to create meaningful opportunities for people with disability and reinforcing our commitment to sustainability.

Key duties of the role will include:

  • Manage day-to-day operations at Buderim and Caloundra Resource Recovery Centres, ensuring smooth workflow and compliance.
  • Lead, support, and develop the site teams by setting clear goals, providing training, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Ensure all contracts are managed effectively, meeting contractual obligations and service standards.
  • Drive operational efficiency through process improvements and effective resource allocation.
  • Maintain accurate records of resource recovery volumes, materials, contracts, and reporting for audit and management purposes.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor site budgets and expenditures to meet financial targets and optimise commercial outcomes.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing WHS policies, conducting risk assessments, and addressing hazards promptly.
  • Oversee workforce planning including recruitment, rostering, and ensuring staff comply with organisational policies.
  • Promote sustainability and environmental best practices to maximise resource recovery and minimise waste.

What you can bring to the team:

You bring a wealth of experience and knowledge in resource recovery/waste management operations, combined with strong leadership skills and a proven ability to manage teams, meet commercial objectives, and maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and customer service.

  • Tertiary or Certificate level education in a waste management or environmental related field of study will be highly regarded.
  • Proven leadership in managing teams to achieve commercial goals.
  • Experience with contract management and meeting customer requirements.
  • Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise, plan, and delegate tasks efficiently.
  • Effective problem-solving using a logical approach.

You will be required to undertake a “Fit2Work” National Criminal History Check and hold or be willing to obtain a Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check.

At Endeavour we offer a range of employee benefits including:

  • Salary Packaging Benefits! Package up to $15,900 of your annual salary tax free.
  • In addition to your tax-free benefit, you can also use up to $2,650 of your pre-tax income to pay for entertainment expenses (meals, holiday accommodation etc).
  • An Employee Assistance Program - a free and confidential counselling service available to all staff and their family members.
  • Discounts on Corporate Private Health Insurance Plans, white goods, and appliances.
  • Discounted family gym memberships through Fitness Passport.
