About the role

Point Care is seeking passionate and caring Support Workers to join our dedicated team in Mackay, Queensland. As a casual Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and assistance to our elderly and vulnerable clients, helping them maintain their independence and live fulfilling lives.

What you'll be doing

Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping

Accompanying clients to appointments, social events, and community activities

Providing companionship and engaging clients in meaningful activities and conversations

Monitoring client wellbeing and reporting any changes or concerns to the care team

Adhering to company policies, procedures, and industry regulations to ensure the safety and well-being of our clients

What we're looking for

A caring and empathetic nature with a genuine passion for supporting the elderly and disabled

Experience in a similar role, or a strong desire to work in the aged and disability care sector

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with clients

The ability to work independently as well as part of a team

A current driver's licence and reliable vehicle (desirable)

A current driver's licence and reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance (desirable)

First aid certification or a willingness to obtain one

Experience with manual handling(desirable).

Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain before starting

Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, or Disability (or willingness to obtain)

Ability to pass National Police Check (mandatory requirement)

Full working rights in Australia (required)
