An established engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced URD Engineer or Designer to join their growing team, working on a range of residential, commercial, and mixed-use subdivision projects. You’ll be responsible for the planning, design, and coordination of underground reticulated distribution systems and related infrastructure—helping to deliver compliant, efficient, and well-managed electrical solutions across Queensland.

About the Role
This is a full-time position reporting to the Managing Director and can be based in either our Brisbane CBD office (with end-of-trip facilities) or our Gold Coast office.

You'll be stepping into a proactive and professional environment, with responsibilities including:

Designing LV/HV networks, lighting layouts, large customer connections, and civil infrastructure plans

Preparing electrical design documents, specifications, and technical reports

Liaising with clients, councils, Energex, Ergon, and other authorities

Reviewing documentation for compliance with Energex, Ergon, and AS/NZS standards

Attending site inspections, client meetings, and briefings

Managing project delivery with support from drafting and delivery teams

About You
You're a practical, down-to-earth engineer who thrives in a collaborative, no-nonsense team. You're not afraid to take ownership of your work, take on complex projects, and build solid relationships with clients and authorities alike.

We’re looking for:

3+ years' experience in electrical design (Essential, and ideally within a consulting or utility environment)

Familiarity with compliance requirements for Energex, Ergon and AS/NZS standards (Essential)

Experience using tools such as AutoCAD, LV Drop, ArcMap, NetView, Poles & Wires, Perfect Lite, or similar (Essential)

A relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience

Eligibility for RPEQ or CPEng

Strong written communication and project coordination skills
