About The Role
The General Manager (GM) Brisbane is responsible for running the day-to-day operations and logistics of Wafex and Tesselaar Flowers at our Brisbane facility.

This includes:

Responsibility for receivals, processing, packing, bouquets, logistics, procurement, and sales, ensuring the Brisbane Branch meets its financial, operational, and strategic objectives.

Leading and mentoring your team, managing business performance and costs, maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

Leading continuous improvement efforts, and fostering a safe, efficient, and performance-driven environment.

You will have a collaborative leadership style, working closely with your team and other business units to get the best outcome for customers and stakeholders of the Wafex Group.

Key Responsibilities

Adhere to and model the company values of Teamwork, Honesty, Accountability, Agility, and Community Spirit.

Achieve strategic and operational objectives which are aligned with the Business Strategic Plan Report and monitor KPI’s within your teams to ensure that we exceed our customers’ expectations around quality and service.

Champion a strong WHS Culture in Brisbane and ensure a safe work environment for all staff, with zero Lost Time Injuries (LTI).

Ensure staff across the Brisbane facility are clear on their roles and objectives within the company, addressing any issues or poor performance promptly.

Oversee leadership and development programs to enhance team productivity and engagement, fostering teamwork and collaboration and ensuring alignment with company goals.

Lead the Operations Team to ensure costs are managed in the most efficient way and that they are trained and prepared to handle changes in demand, scale, or other business challenges.

Candidate Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

You will have previous experience working in perishables (fresh flowers most desirable), with solid floral knowledge a distinct advantage, and extensive experience within a logistics, freight, and delivery services environment. You will have outstanding customer service skills, proven leadership skills, experience managing a diverse team within a changing environment, and be confident in your decision-making, with strong attention to detail and the ability to transform data into actionable, strategic decisions.
