We need an experienced full time editor/journalist to take on a key editorial role in the launch of SCOPE a brand new series of publications designed to deliver information for architects, designers, project managers property developers and people involved in the development of a new generation of technology led construction.

We already own the #1 consumer technology web site ChannelNews and SmartHouse and we are currently rolling out a new initiative called Brand Noise.

Knowledge across lifestyle and smart housing publications ad advantage.

You will be experienced at news and feature writing while also managing the flow of content for a publication from both staff and freelance writers.

You will work closely with a Creative Director in the development of content which is key to the look and feel of these new digital publications.

We have been in the media and publication business for over 4 decades having built and sold media Companies. We have no debt and are an exclusive media partner of both JB Hi Fi and The Good Guys.

You will be expected to write both news and feature stories for our new publications spanning Scope Residential, Scope Appliances and Scope Entertainment.

You will know how to use generative AI tools to enhance content quality, speed and scale, writing especially when it relates to new products.

You will be expected to contribute to content strategy, bringing fresh ideas, identifying gaps, and making proactive recommendations for in a fast growing market where technology is changing the way houses are built and then fitted out.

Key requirements are:

At least 5 years journalist or editor experience.

Exceptional written communication skills across short-form, long-form and micro copy formats.

Strong editing skills as well as being able to manage editorial relationships with key international clients.

Understanding of content strategy principles and customer-centric storytelling.

We are based in North Sydney with great views of the harbour.

We are flexible with days worked in the office.

Base salary $100K with opportunity to earn additional salary from commission on special one off publications for clients.
