Your part in St Stephen’s Hospital team

Reporting to the Regional Maintenance & Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for a variety of preventative, scheduled and reactive requests to maintain and service UCH property, including buildings, grounds, infrastructure and equipment. Maintenance Officers will demonstrate a broad skillset to perform activities required and work individually or as part of a team. Work performed will be under limited supervision from a certified tradesperson or supervisor and may require supervision of a Maintenance or Grounds Assistant. Work undertaken will be conducted to the highest standards of repair, presentation and hygiene.

As part of your role, you’ll be accountable for but not limited to:

Undertake routine preventative or scheduled maintenance activity promptly and to the highest standard

Ensure all plant, fittings and equipment meet regulatory compliance standards.

Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner with work undertaken to a high standard

Ensuring all work activity is documented/logged in the asset management system.

Understand and apply UCH policies and procedures in the application of the role.

Follow and promote safety standards including relevant workplace health and safety legislation, or codes and standards applicable to the role and impart these to Employees in a lower classification level

Undertake comprehensive audit and maintenance checklists and record and document inspections as required.

What makes a difference for us?

As an experienced tradesperson, you will demonstrate:

Demonstrated Experience in a similar role including broad maintenance skills to address basic carpentry, plumbing and or motor maintenance

Trade Certificate in at least one of the following professions – Licenced Plumber, Mechanic, Electrician or Carpenter

Current Drivers Licence

Knowledge of infection control guidelines and Workplace Health and Safety Regulations and Hospital Policy
