We are seeking a talented Financial Accountant to join one of Australia’s leading personal loan providers. What you’ll do

As a member of the Finance team, you will play an instrumental role in financial accounting, reporting, budgeting and forecasting.

The responsibilities of this role include:

Oversee the month-end accounting process, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.

Provide support to the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions as needed.

Prepare monthly management reports and monitor financial performance against budget.

Maintain the general ledger, regularly reconcile key balance sheet accounts, and investigate any discrepancies.

Assist with statutory reporting requirements to ensure compliance.

Support external audit processes by providing necessary information and documentation.

Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning

Utilize Power BI to create interactive dashboards and visual reports and maintain existing ones

Offer ad-hoc assistance to the broader finance team as required.

Respond to internal and external finance-related queries promptly and effectively.

What you’ll bring:

Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or relevant discipline (essential);

Qualified CA/CPA (essential);

Hands-on and self-sufficient, with strong end-to-end month-end and reporting capabilities.

Essential experience in financial services or a related industry.

Technical proficiency in financial systems (preferably Xero) , Power BI and Excel.

Strong analytical skills for handling complex, high-volume data.

Up to date knowledge on accounting standards, tax legislation, and regulatory reporting requirements
