Annualised Salary: $76,774 plus superannuation

Type: Full-time for 4 years

Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic: the role is required candidates to have specialised skills to assembles, installs, maintains and repairs industrial, air-conditioning and refrigeration in both commercial and domestic projects under the the licensed Team Leader (Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanics).

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine installation requirements and mark reference points for system placement.

Perform tasks such as drilling, installing mounting hardware, and cutting, bending, or threading pipes to fit system components.

Install, maintain, and repair key system parts, including compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, control switches, gauges, and piping systems for steam, gas, refrigerants, compressed air, oil, and chilled water.

Join and secure piping and system parts through methods such as bolting, soldering, riveting, welding, and brazing, ensuring precise alignment and secure fittings.

Pressurise systems with gas or fluid to detect leaks and ensure system integrity.

Conduct operational testing of refrigeration and air conditioning systems, inspect functionality.

Use vacuum pumps to evacuate test fluids and gases before filling refrigerants.

Diagnose issues within refrigeration systems, carry out thorough checks, and repair or replace faulty components as required.

Adjust system controls and mechanisms, ensuring optimal and efficient operation.

Maintain detailed records of malfunctions encountered and the repairs.

Requirements:

Possess relevant trade qualifications in air conditioning and refrigeration.

Minimum of one year of post-qualification experience in the field.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a team, including builders and construction professionals.

Hardworking, reliable, and eager to learn and develop new skills.
