About the Role:
VU Careers Hub is an established, high-impact service and now we’re looking for a hands-on leader to drive its next phase of growth. As the service lead, you’ll champion innovation, strengthen internal partnerships, and boost visibility across the university. You’ll play a key role in shaping how students connect with career and job support, while delivering real improvements that enhance student employment success.
This is a full-time fixed-term (2-year contract period) position at a HEP8 $110,100 - $123,987 per annum plus 17% superannuation, working 36.75 hours per week. This position is located at our Footscray Park campus.
You duties may include:
Actively engaging with stakeholders across the university and industry to build partnerships, increase visibility of the VU Careers Hub, and position it as a key service supporting graduate success.
Tracking and influencing outcomes from student engagement to job placement rates - ensuring that all initiatives contribute to measurable impact.
Aligning career services with university-wide priorities, such as industry engagement, WIL, and student success initiatives.
Leading innovation by anticipating emerging needs from students and employers, and developing new approaches, tools, and resources to meet them.
Shaping a positive and driven team culture, ensuring efforts are strategically aligned and outcome-focused.
About You:
Proven leadership in managing diverse teams, a strong emphasis on coaching, staff development, and fostering a collaborative, positive team culture.
Strong operational expertise in delivering support within career and/or employment settings, with a focus on service quality, accessibility, and measurable outcomes.
Ability to lead strategic initiatives, leveraging data and feedback to enhance service visibility, student engagement, and overall impact.
Proactive in identifying opportunities to build strategic networks and strengthen stakeholder engagement to drive alignment across a complex organisation.
